Hi, my name is Tor and I've been wanting to build a Neocities of my own for a long time. If you have any tips, I'd love to hear them. I've been messing more liberally with code here based on what I'm learning at Free Code Camp.

But coding is really difficult! I've been working on this website for a while now and I feel like I'm hitting a wall. So I'm taking some time to look at other neocities projects, but it feels like everyone is so far ahead of me. Oh well. That's how it is learning something new.

It is January 3rd as I write this, so I feel like the spirit of things would be to list out all that I'd want from my webpage. And this is as follows:

  • Place to blog. I want to talk about myself and have an archive to come back to. I loved using Instagram and Twitter to talk about how much I love my husband. I also want to be more honest with and about myself in general. I love looking back on old conversations and things like that.
  • Place to host art. This was originally the main purpose of this website, but it felt like a tall order to start off with a professional purpose instead of messing around and having fun. But I do need a portfolio...But I also would just Like To Have One!
  • Place to collect things. All of these points actually kind of just tie to each other, to be honest. But I love looking at my Pinterest boards. I hate that it's on a whole other website than my Toyhouse.

So to be more specific:

  • Blog
    • Talk about real life things that happen to me
    • Post music I've been listening to
    • Share progress on work
    • Talk about video games
  • Post original art
    • Ordered by theme or aesthetic
    • Ordered by series
    • Ordered by characters
    • Tagged and searchable
    • Ordered by time, maybe?
    • Includes: digital paintings, traditional drawings, original music, video games I've made, writing for sure...
  • Post things that I like
    • Gallery of visual art that I've collected that inspires me
    • Curated playlists of songs for OCs and also themes
    • Lists of Video Games That Are Good
    • And TTRPGs!
    • Poems, short stories, and writing that I like too.

I think that's mainly it. Well, I'll figure it out.
